  • NFB - MCSE for me!

I've gotten the go-ahead to go to Miami and take a 2-week MCSE boot camp.

I've been without work now for a month and am worried about what will happen when my severence $$ is gone. I'm hoping that this cert will put my resume closer to the top of the pile again.

I'm going with a friend, and we are leaving this Friday morning.

    Wish me luck!

LOL, good luck man. Both of my uncles went. He said they were fried after a couple days. My one uncle had to leave early, he couldn't handle it. It's a load of work he said. Is this the intense school you are talking about? He went down to Ohio for this, but he called it boot camp. Intense school/boot camp the same thing?

I hope you are very prepared for that man! Good luck

Yes, this is the boot camp. 12 hour days, for 14 days strait no breaks. It is supposed to be intense, but the instructor is very good at it! In the last year he has only had 2 students fail, out of 120. I already have a good strong background in IT, so I'm not worried.

MCSE = Must Continue Seeking Employment ??? (Just Kidding) That was the joke around here during 911 and the dot.coms dropping like flies. Job market was horrible here in NJ, and I was out for a year and a half. I went the Cisco route - CCNA & CQS in wireless, working on CCNP. I never had the desire before to go the MS route. Now I am thinking about working on the Microsoft certs. More importantly continuing my education. An A.A.S. in Telcom does nothing for me. Although I am finally in a job that I absolutely love. I will always be scared of the day when they bring in 3 foreigners working 8hr shifts for $8 an hour to replace me. Just a matter of when in the IT/IS field.

Best of luck on the MCSE, those tests are pretty darn tough!

Good luck Tracy! MCSE is a good tool to have in your belt. Cisco is definitely the way to go if you can devote the time. CCNP is paying big bucks right now for cellular carrier network field work.
