I've never personally used Pacesetters, but over the years I have not heard a lot of good thing about them. You usually end up getting what you pay for.

I'd say Pacesetters and Flowtechs are probably one the bottom scale of 3rd gen headers. The cheaper headers have a lot of warpage and leak issues. Edelbrock seems to be about in the middle, and then Hooker, SLP, and Hedman seem to be at the top. No 2 sets of headers are alike though, SLPs are the most expensive, the Hooker 2055s are probably the best flowing, Hedman 2210 longtubes install fairly easy, etc. etc.

Do you have a price range or limit to how much your willing to spend? Do you want shorty headers or full length (longtubes)? Do you want AIR injection pipes installed on the headers? Do you want them ceramic coated? Any and all details you can think of will help your decision.

Then prepare yourself for alot of rust and enough heat to start breaking down underhood plastics and rubber.

I went with the Edelbrock Tubular exhaust system on my 88 GTA. Comes with headers and y-pipe. At the time it was only $350 or something like that from Summit, but that was quite a few years ago. I was happy with them, and would recommend them for the price. I had mine jet-hot coated first, though.

Hate to say it but that's impossible. Uncoated headers will rust if on there any length of time. They will be hotter underhood unless coated. The coating keeps the heat in the exhaust system and specifically in the exhaust gases themselves rather than transferred to the metal. Header wrap will cause a degredation of the metal itself and can cause a fire. Header wrap keeps the heat in the exhaust system, specifically it makes the exhaust pipes retain heat. Header wrap is notorious for collecting oil and igniting. I wouldn't do that even if the stuff were free. Tom Byrne's car burned to the ground from ignited header wrap.
