today, i noticed on the upper left front of the sports appearance package, that the seam was pulling away.

so. do it take it back to the dealer? have them send it to the body shop who will want to make major bucks by removing the front facia and reseating it?

heck no.

3m tape...stuffed carefully in the seam..then gel super glue put in by using a fine needle without touchng any body parts....then straight pressure for 10 min.

did'nt work.

so i did it again.........

worked.........

waaaaalllllllaaaaaaa



boy is it hot out........

the zaino protected the body against my acid sweat.....LOL

i also had to use some touch up paint and apply it with a paper match to a few tiny spots in the seam.... mary finally walked slowly outside to see if i was dead...saw what i was doing and said "do you know nobody would ever notice that....."

i said "i do......"

I'm the same way with stuff like that. If it is something I can fix myself, no way am I sending it to the dealer... even if it is under full warranty. I just don't trust dealerships.

Awwww...not super glue...that stuff is gross! People always use super glue on their window shades after they fall off. The bad thing is that the only way to remove super glue is to sand it off. But as long as it stays, it'll work. The best way to do it would be to remove it, remove the 3m tape, use an adhesion promoter(on the part where the tape is going to be), reapply 3m tape and then reinstall it.

remove the entire front facia (pontiacs optional sports appearance package for the gto.........) that would have been the only way to redo that tiny section.......
