  • Poor arrogant Porsche owner

During my lunch break today, i sat out in my car and called my girlfriend. All of a sudden, a black Porsche pulls up behind me. Now, there are quite a few empty parking spots. He decides to pull up behind my car and another parked car, blocking us from backing out. I'm sitting there watching this guy try and act all cool in his car. After a few minutes he decided to move from behind our cars and into the "No Parking" zone, which is supposed to be left open for fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. He's now blocking in a minivan that's parked in a handicapped spot. He gets out and stands next to his car, not doing anything whatseover. Not dusting it off, not looking it over, nothing. He just stood next to it. My dad used to pull that crap and i hated it. It's pretty much- "Wow, i sure hope that no one sees me standing by this expensive sports car, which happens to be mine! *Ehem!* This sports car right here!" He started to move back toward his car (i guess he got the point that no one was impressed with his car), when all of a sudden *smack*. The minivan that he was blocking backed into him. I saw an old lady get out of the car and walk over toward him. She seemed a little intimidated but still made her way over. She obviously hadn't seen him. He crouched next to the car and looked it over but i don't think there was any real damage. After his girlfriend/wife/whoever walked out, they hopped in and drove off.
I really don't understand why people do this. I wanted to get out, tell him, "You have a Porsche, we get it. Go park you car and get out of the way!" (He was taking up space which prevented cars from going through freely and also created an unecessary blind spot since no one could see around him.)
Why do people crave attention like this? If he had simply gone and parked his car like everyone else, his car would never have been hit. Those people make me so freakin angry

I do that all the time with my '91 Bravada. I park it in fire zones and also take up several spots by parking diagonally. Then I just get out, stand next to it, and say "That's right... It's a 1991 Olds Bravada... And it's mine". People are usually so impressed, they lay on their horns. Sometimes they even tell me I'm #1 by using their middle finger.

*EDIT* I just reread what you wrote. He was actually for his girlfriend or wife or whoever to come out. I was wondering why he was there in the first place but eventually, some woman came out and hopped in the car with him.
Still, I sat there the whole time watching for him to do something. Heck, anything . All he did was stand there in his shirt with cut off sleeves and kinda crossed his arms (he had his hands behind his biceps, trying to push them forward to make them look bigger. He almost reminded me of Uncle Rico from Napolean Dynamite). Why would you get out of your car and stand there? It obviously couldn't be so that his girlfriend would spot him right away. How many turbo Carrera's are there? He should have pulled into a spot. I mean, at least when my dad got out, he'd dust the car off (he was nuts and washed the thing 4-5 times per week. When he'd pick me up from my house, he'd take 15 minutes to dust off anything that may have gotten on the car on his trip over to my house). He loved the attention though. When he'd come to pick me up from drivers ed, sometimes he'd be outside with no shirt, smoking a cigar and dusting off his car. Unfortunately, all the kids were in fact impressed. I'd get bombarded with questions the next day. Anyhow, if this guy was so worried about his car, he should have parked it far away from the main area. My one manager loves his '02 Grand Prix. He always parks in the farthest spot and to this day, he doesn't have one dent, ding or scratch. This is after 2 years of being in the parking lot of a busy food store, 5-6 times per week.
Even though i felt kinda bad, i still laughed when the minivan backed into him I hope that Karma isn't real lol

Some people are weird. When I'm for my gf to come out, I'll park somewhere outta the way but where I can see her, and once I do, I'll roll over to where she is to pick her up. Some people are like that, I see them all the time.
