  • NFB...Who all fishes?

How many of you guys like to fish? Since I've gotten my new motor in and my car has been atleast a little bit trouble free this summer I've gotten to get out a good bit and have had a heck of a year. I've been fishing the Juniata river for small mouth and Lake Rayestown for large mouth, stripper, walley and muskie. I've attached pictures of a 19 inch small mouth I caught in the river, a 17 1\2 inch large mouth and a 12inch perch (first one I've ever caught) I caught at the lake. Lets hear some stories and see some pictures to proove there not just fishing tales lol .

i used to be an avid nutso largemouth bass fisherman. in fact, bass master magazine wrote an article on a technique i developed. ill see if i can find it and scan it and put it up....that was years ago.

had a small bass boat, my dad and brother had the big ones....they are moored at lake gaston at my dads old lake house that my younger brother bought.....

    when i visit..i still wet-a-line and catch a few......

i got one largemouth on the wall thats 8lbs 10oz... caught it fishing with my dad one rainy morning...he wanted me to get it mounted and offered to pay for it so i did it...

fishing is an awesome sport....no doubt.....

I love to fish. I used to fish about 3 or 4 times a week. I was supposed to go today actually but I didn't. This summer I have only been about 10 times. It's been really hot lately. There are no fish. I have caught like 5 fish this year. Couple small mouth, and a couple of walleyes. Small walleye's. We went out on the boat and all we caught were tickets. It's just too hot I heard. My barber is a big fisher and he had the same problem.

We'll be on the boat just saying over and over that the fish finder can't be working. I was like, well we've been out here for 3 hours and haven't caught a fish, I think it's workin darn good lol. Oh well

I'm by no means an avid fisherman, but I love to do it when I have the time. I prefer salt water fidhing, but I'll do either if it means hanging out with my friends, drinking beer, and not working.

Saltwater fishing is awesome. My best friend since high school has a professional guide boat. All the gadgets..... nothing like Florida sport fishing. Everything from 24" trout to monster 135 lb Tarpon, Sharks, Grouper, Snapper... you name it. Awesome when I actually get the time to do it.

You're not kidding, Joe. I've spent some time off Sarasota, in Siesta Key, plus quite a bit of time down in the Florida keys, namely Marathon. That is the absolute best saltwater fishing I've ever done. I go everytime I'm down there.

Man, I haven't been fishing in ages. I used to go really often when I was a kid. My grandfather was an avid fisherman and always took my brother and I out fishing. I wish I had nickel for every perch I've caught. LOL The best fishing I have done was...
Freshwater: At Lake Texoma, on the Texas-Oklahoma border, right below the dam, with the spillway's turned off at about 1:30am. My dad and brother and I were camping there and we went down to the dam to see thousands of shad minnows jumping like mad in the water below the dam. The water was low enough that you could wade out into it up to your waist. I swear, every cast caught a striper. Not every catch was big enough to keep, but those suckers were having a feast on the shad and were apparently willing to bite just about anything thrown out there. I think we caught our limit in about an hour, and then just kept fishing for the fun of it. But there were guys catching 10-15 pounders with ocean fishing type poles. Man that was fun.

Saltwater: Fishing off a chartered fishing boat in the gulf of Mexico off Galveston Island with my grandfather and brother. We caught everything from gaff-top catfish to croaker to whitefish to shark. My brother and I figured out that using squid heads with the tenticles attached would catch a little blue shark pretty reliably. LOL That and the 2 foot hammer-head shark I caught. I wanted to keep it, but my grandfather just cut the line. The thing seemed huge to me since I was only about 11 or so.
