  • Oh Man... Need serious Help....

    Hey Everyone,
I need help BIGTIME. I snaped off the heads on two of the transmission crossmember bolts. They were really rusted and I didnt use a impact wrench. Then I got an EZ out and tried to get one of them out. I snapped off the tip of the EZ out inside the bolt. How do I fix this? I am out of ideas. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Thanks in Advance,
    Mark B

this is going to sound weird but I have done it about a hundred times with 99% success. I broke I don't know how many easy outs till a machinist told me this trick.. use a carbide drill bit to drill a hole into that mess and then use an allen wrench just a smidge bigger than the hole.. tap it in there and then use a box end wrench for torque and just unscrew that bad boy... hey it works.. and if it doesn't you can always just drill the whole thing out and helicoil it

No Way. It snaped off about 1/4 inch in. I think its too frozen for pliers anyway. I had a 12" long 1/2" drive ratched on it when I snaped off the heads.

I like what I am hearing as far as ideas. Right now I am going to try the allen wrench thing and if that doesnt work... Im retaping.
