  • 1982 Camaro or Firebird emission decal digital picture

Hello. Does anyone have the main emission decal for a 1982 Firebird Trans Am or Firebird Special Edition? It is for a federal not California 305 motor 5.0 Liter engine, 4 barrel carbs, and automatic transmission. The part number is #14063714 and the code is LAJ. All I need is a good close up digital picture of the main rectangular shaped decal. I already have the hose routing decal.

I have been asking someone else club who does have it, for several months, but they did not send the picture to me. This decal is very important to me because I need it to register the car. It has been over a year since I started the registration process and it is still not registerd. This has caused me much stress and anxiety. I feel like some people just don't care.

If anybody decides to help me out, two close up pictures(macro mode on the digital camera) would be greatly appreciated! One picture of the left side of the decal and one picture of the right side of the decal. They should both be zoomed in as much as possible while still being able to get the entire left side and then the entire right side. It should be legible where I can read it. I should be able to have every detail. I know beggars can't be choosers, but this is extremely important to me.

I would be extremely grateful if anybody helps me out!

Are you trying to make a reproduction of the sticker, or do you just need to know what it says? Classic Industries carries old emmisions stickers and other decals, they should probably have something for you. You may even be able to find a pic of it in their catalog, or you could order one for a few bucks.

I'm having trouble with their website here at work, but try searching it, they have a whole category for emissions decals.

      82 emission decal

      Dave,

Thanks for your concern. I have tried everything, even classic industries. Classic industries does not have my year car.But I get nothing. However, I am in touch with someone who would be able to remake the decal with a good close-up digital picture. That is why I need the digital picture of the decal. But I just found out that an 82 Camaro would be the same exact decal as my 82 trans am. Do you know anyone by any chance?

      Thanks,
      Eric

P.S. Sorry it took me a while to get back with you. I was expecting the message to come to my email, but it did not. Do you know how to make messages come to my email?

If you haven't already, post this over on www.thirdgen.org message boards too. I'm sure someone there can help you out, if not here. There are plenty of earlier 3rd gen owners on that board.

I talked to a GM parts guy, call 1-877-446-7378 GM Resto is what he called it. I hope this helps.

I would try calling around salvage yards and see if they don't have any 82' on hand...if they do, I'm sure you can get one. Hope you find what you need...

If all else fails you might be able to find on ebay or somewhere the 1982 firebird service manual, that might have the mission diagram in it, and is a useful resource as well. Maybe try checking that out.

I actually got the Firebird owners manual for 82, but it is just a sample with the wrong codes and everything. Name it and I tried it. But I appreciate the thought though. I even asked people on ebay who do have the right cars, but they are not willing to take the picture.

I am hoping someone will help me out. There is a guy who is 2 hours from my house and he has the right LAJ code decal. I told him that I could stop by and take a picture myself. But I guess he did not want to help me that way. Because you can only ask the same person so many times

Here's a thought..... go to www.autotrader.com and do a search for 82 Camaros within a certain distance. If you find one that matches, go take a look and snap the photos yourself.

OK. I tried going to autotrader.com and searched for both a Camaro and Firebird nearest my area. The closest car that was for sale under autotrader was in Ohio. I emailed that person hoping that they could help me out. Wish me luck
