  • NFB: Blackout Pic

Thought you all might find this interesting. I'm assuming it's [edit] NOT a real image. Any opinions? I think the blackout area is a little too blacked out....Like someone used the spray paint tool in paintshop.

I agree, alittle too blacked out. Not everywhere was out either. I live right in the middle of it and I had power.

Ahhh...those are much better pics! Thanks....

The other has been making its way around the net, and to hear the news, that's what you would think had happened. I'm only 30 miles or so east of Manhattan and I had power the whole time. When it did hit, there was an odd buzzing sound from the computer speakers. I didn't think much of it till I turned the news on a few hours later.

Sorry didn't pay attention to RangerBob's links. He had them already listed. The first two pics on the NOAA site he provided the link to are the ones I saw before.

In our little town in Ontario we have so much construction going so the power goes out quite frequently when they switch or overload something. So we didn't think it was that big until our daughter came by several hours later and told us what was going on. So we had to dig out a small radio to listen what happened. We were out for 26 hrs. while two or three blocks away they had it back after 8 hrs.
