car wont start

Went to take the car out for a ride and it wouldnt start. The only sound when the key was turned was the starter clicking. The battery alternator and starter are all new within the year. It also has sputtered a few times and stalled within the last month. Any ideas on what is wrong would be appreciated.

start wit the basics, loose connections, battery could be shot(u dont kno when the batter was made, should be a letter and number on the side(ex. E5 which is 05-2005) then go from there
