  • Strait pipe??

Do you guys think that taking out the cat or better flow and sound is a good idea. I dont have to worry about emissions or anything. Or do you guys think a high flow cat would be better? Money is tight so kinda wondered what all of you have done.

I wish I had a nickel for every time some asks about taking off their catalytic converter. I'd be driving a Vette.

No. Do a search for catalytic or converter.

I remember Fred saying he saw a guy who put a Carsound in place of his off-road pipe. He ended up gaining 1 mph in the traps.

I built an 800HP 381 cubic inch LT1 nitroused stroker, and kept all the emissions equipment functional, including dual 3" CarSound cats. I recommend you go with a high flow cat(s).

If your money is tight, don't put it into your car.

Does your cat have to be replaced to run? I would just leave it alone until money isn't so tight. I heard with stock manifolds removing the cat sounds kinda nasty. And you don't want to gut it. I heard that sounds even worse.

I don't have cats, but I have headers and an ORY, so it sounds pretty damn good. I would just leave it alone.

Well in my situation i installed a 3 inch catback and flowmaster muffler, my car was broken up a bit inside and was rattling, I gutted it with it in the car hooked my exhaust back up. Mine sounds great. I get complimetns all the time. But with stock exhaust dont bother with it unless you have to. A buddy of mine had a 95 ta and he put on a staright pipe or gutted it o dont remember with the stock exhaust and muffler and it sounded very raspy. definatly dont mess with it unless it is a must.
