Best Plugs/Wires?

I have a 97 Trans Am with about 105xxx miles on it. I have a studder at low rpm's, it will kinda bounce at an idle. It also sets a random/mult misfire code, 0300. Well anywayz, i have a fairly new opti from about a year ago that i got when i had my engine rebuilt, or pretty much rebuilt. I think I'm going to start with the plugs and wires, they got about 20xxx on them. What are the best Plugs and wires to get for a stock LT1 engine. I don't want anything extremely expensive, just some good plugs and wires. I have other mods, like exhaust, but nothing serious. Any input is greatly appreciated....Thanks

The best wires and plugs for our cars, are the bone stock ones beleive it or not. I had some Accels for my car and it ran like crap. They did'nt even last long. I've been told that aftermarket plugs and wires aren't good for our cars. Plugs, good ol' AC Delco plugs. And i forget the stock wires but you get the idea.

I've got a set of taylor wires that seem to work good. My plugs are NGK TR6's, but thats a colder plug for a nitrous app.

change the coil wire first. and check to see if a wire boot might have backed off a plug too...that happend to us.

Might be a good idea to put a dab of dielectric grease inside the boots. Keeps them water tight and easy to remove when the time comes.

Hey Ken, is the coil wire the wire connecting the coil to the opti? dumb question i know....

Not Ken, but... yes, that would be the "coil wire", looks kind of like a spark plug wire with similar boots at each end, only it's shorter.

I replaced mine with Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm and runs good. Solid. Stock GM AC DElco same price in Canada. Around 85cdn$. Which converts to about 60$ U.S. And looks good with with cool blue

I just replaced my plugs with NGK TR55 (gap of .059) and replaced the wires with LiveWire.

Plugs

Before I changed wires, I'd change the plugs a few months earlier: Champion Platinum Power . Nice . I put on Platinum mainly so that they last longer... Though performance wise, I guess, pretty much all plugs are equivalent when new...it's after that it changes I think.

I have owned several LT1 cars and the BEST plugs and wires Ive used is.....AC Delco R43TS plugs and Taylor SpiroPro wires. All affordable too. Could buy all of it for good bargain and good results.

I used to run AC Rapid Fire #3 for plugs. I also went to Taylor wires and they were junk. The boots ended up coming apart after only on a short time. I bought brand new original wires and they worked great. The stock 96-97 wires are great and much better than earlier stock wires.
