  • PCM4LESS laptop cable...Will this work?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ROSS-...spagenameZWDVW

I just need to know if this will work with PCM4LESS programming. It seems like a pretty good deal rather than the $100.00 cable.
    Thanks

That's an OBD-II cable. You need an OBD-I cable with the OBD-II connector. Not sure if the data pin on your 95 OBD-II connector is in the same location as the data pin on a true OBD-II connector. Then is says the cable is compatible with software for VW, Audi and Skoda (have you ever seen a Skoda ?).

This is what I bought http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ALDL-...QQcmdZViewItem

The guy's from Poland but the shipment is surprisingly quick. I bought it a year ago, so the physical design has changed, but I'm sure the basic functionality is the same. I do have a couple issues though, and I'm not sure if it's the cable or laptop. The issues are:
Datamaster does not work with my '94, yet Freescan does. Datamaster works on Steve's '93 but Freescan doesn't.
I cannot flash a new program using my laptop. I had to bring my desktop into the garage, but it flashed perfectly. It may have to do with the laptop having a hard time with true DOS mode and COM ports.
So essentially, this cable does work, but I would prefer a USB one from PCMforless if it was cheaper.

Have you looked at AKM Electronics? I bought my LT1_Edit cable from Andrew.
