  • 4.10 VS 4.11 Whats the deal here???

Some buddies of mine tell me not to get 4.10's.. and get 4.11's.

They say they are much stronger???

If indeed they are right, where do you guys recommed getting Motive 4.11's from?

    Thanks!

4.11s are for a Ford 9" (and some other aftermarket?) rear. 4.10s are a choice for your stock rear.

Read the description. It's a typo. Or if you still want to verify, then copy and paste the part number into SLP web site and look at the part.

No prob man. It is confusing when the seller doesn't list it right. But I learned that 4.11s do not exist for this rear end from the knowledgeable guys at this board too

Yup...what he said. I have the 4.10 and know for certain...they do not make a 4.11 for the 7 5/8" 10-bolt rears. My opinion - I like the US Strange gears the best.

here's the skinny.... there is more that one way to acheive the desired ratio.... it depends on the number of teeth on the ring gear vs the amount of teeth on the pinion. Due to the combination, 4:11s are indeed a little stronger than 4:10s even though the ratio is so close. And by the way, 4:10 is the gear for our applications.

                  As Joe pointed out.....

37 teeth on the ring gear / 9 teeth on the pinion = 4.111111

40 teeth on the ring gear / 10 teeth on the pinion = 4.100000

I have the US/Strange Pro Street 4.11's in my 12-bolt.
