The piece that holds my drivers side window switches to the plastic piece on drivers side door handle is broken, so I put a balled up piece of a paper bag under the window switch buttons to hold it in place. There are wires resting on top of the paper bag. Is this safe, or will the wires get hot spark a flame, and catch on fire? Or is there some heat resistant foam stuff I can buy for real cheap. ONLY looking for a cheap fix here, not paying 35.00 dollars to fix it. Thats what Billy Graham wanted for that piece which includes all the switches. Not paying that. IS THIS CHEAP FIX SAFE?

Try calling a couple dealerships...they usually vary in prices. I got my window switch on my passengers side for 7 bucks.
I couldn't imagine much happening...but I wouldn't trust it. If I wanted to makeshift something, I would probably wind up using some sort of heat resiliant foam padding just for a better piece of mind.black 95 t/a, a4, beefed up tranny w/ higher stall converter, transgo shift kit, trans temp gauge, trans cooler, richmond 3.73's, loudmouth, hypertech programmer, 160 thermo, descreened maf, TB bypass and airfoil, trick flow intake elbow, underdrive pulleys, moroso cai, edelbrock panhard rod, bmr stb, slp sfc's, fiberglass firehawk hood, hawk pads, taylor wires, ngk plugs, royal purple fluids,...and hopefully more to come

I don't think you will get any heat to worry about from the switch area.Rob B 95Z A4 Tech Page (Part numbers / locations, how to's, schematics, DTC's...) Home Page - shbox.com
