Wondering if you guys have any opinions on the different brands of MAF's?

I asked about it in another topic but rather than get that thread off course I figured it would be better to ask in a separate thread.

I have heard recently that the Granatelli units are not very good.

Let me know what you guys think and recommend. It's going on a 396 stroker motor.

I can say that from what I've heard on these boards, aftermarket MAF's are not the way to go. It seems like the best idea is to keep the stock MAF.
black 95 t/a, a4, beefed up tranny w/ higher stall converter, transgo shift kit, trans temp gauge, trans cooler, richmond 3.73's, loudmouth, hypertech programmer, 160 thermo, descreened maf, TB bypass and airfoil, trick flow intake elbow, underdrive pulleys, moroso cai, edelbrock panhard rod, bmr stb, slp sfc's, fiberglass firehawk hood, hawk pads, taylor wires, ngk plugs, royal purple fluids,...and hopefully more to come

I think unless you are going to do some serious motor work that requires larger volumes of air and tuning, I would stick with the stock one. I purchased the GMaf along with a larger Holley TB and both were a bust in my stock configured TA. I will introduce them when I install my LT4 Intake and heads.
97 TA, M6, JBA ceramic coated headers, Borla Cat-back exhaust, 1.6 RR, 160 Thermo, LT4 knock sensor, CAI, Bils, Hotchkis all around, GT rotors, B&M shifter, Magnecor wires, Granatelli MAF
In the shop LT4 Intake and heads.

I think a 396 stroker would be considered major motor work, right?

        If I don't need a new one I won't buy one, though.
