New car guy looking for sugestions on what to do next! 95 z28

I have a 95 Z28 convertable and am looking for suggestions on what else to do! I have already done an SLP loudmouth exhaust Cold air intake and an air temp module and but chrome TA rims on it. Looking for a programmer for sure but what else. This is also not a daily driver, it sits in my garage a my next move. Although it does have an oil leak from the valve cover and maybe the intake I am just to lazy to check it out right now. so I figure I will check it when I do more things to it. Any help would be GREAT. Just looking for cheaper things to do right now.

you should probobly take care of that oil leak stuff before making any further moves, If the oil is able to seep into things that it sshouldnt it could damage other parts of the vehicle, and the longer you wait to repair it, the more difficult adn costly it could be. However as far as mods go, a ncie set of headers and some gears would do you right. Good Luck with that stuff.

I hope to get it done next weekend. I have a friend that is supose to do it but it taking his time so I might giev it a try my self! What kind or gear do you suggest? 4:10 or a 3:73? my friend who normaly does stuff to my car wants me to get a 4:10 but a few car guys at work say 3:73. Not sure what to go with! I am just getting in to the car scene so be gentle with me! . Well thanks for the reply and What kind of heads would you suggest?

Just for your information...a lot of LT1's are nortorious for having an oil leak at the back passengers side (I believe) of the intake manifold.

3:73 if you have an auto...4:10's if it's stick

Funny you say that because the leak is on the pass side! I know the valve cover is leaking I will have to check the intake as well then!

You can get 4:10's...but it's not daily driver friendly for an auto. If it were a drag car only, that might be a different story.

4:10's very well could be used on an auto...it's just that with an M6, 4:10's can actually (from what I've heard) help gas mileage and make 6th gear actually usable. In our auto's, we only have 4 gears to work with. Our top end will hurt (unless your motor is really built up), gas will be killer, and it won't be too fun on the highway.

Did I mention that gas would be killer as well...especially with today's gas prices

3:73's are an ideal gear for an auto. When I finally do get my gears done, it will be 3:73's for sure.

I definitely would check that out right away if I were you.

If you go to the search option, and type in what you need, you'll probably find that many of your questions have already been answered.

I also suggest you make a signature...this way when you post, we all will know what year car, tranny type, mods, etc... that you have. It will enable everyone to give you a better answer

I just bought a hypertech programmer that should be here by friday. It should help quite a bit with my SLP LOUDMOUTH COLD AIR INTAKE air temp mod. 160 degree thermostat is also on the list. I am just looking for the cheaper mods right now I am also looking for a SLP MAF if any one knows where to get one cheap!

Just a suggestion...but I've heard many many times that aftermarket MAF's are not even worth it (no power increase at all)...and sometimes can actually rob power. A MAF is a critical and sensitive component, and a stock MAF is more than good enough for you.

Headers is all i got to say, and yes keep stock maf. And do not descreen it if you were thinking about it, 9/10 times you will loose hp instead.
