I only got my HPP3 cause I had a sweet deal on it. Sometime in the next year or so, I plan on getting it professionally tuned.
I can say though, that me and my buddy would run our cars sometimes. He has an 84 bird (crate 350, exhaust, good carb, cam, intake, etc..)and we were almost identical. After I got my HPP3, I can say I did pull on him more so than before. I can't give actual HP numbers, but I can verify that.black 95 t/a, a4, beefed up tranny w/ higher stall converter, transgo shift kit, trans temp gauge, trans cooler, richmond 3.73's, loudmouth, hypertech programmer, 160 thermo, descreened maf, TB bypass and airfoil, trick flow intake elbow, underdrive pulleys, moroso cai, edelbrock panhard rod, bmr stb, slp sfc's, fiberglass firehawk hood, hawk pads, taylor wires, ngk plugs, royal purple fluids,...and hopefully more to come

mybe around 400 bucks. on ebay for 300. long tubes will add most HP. for brands i dont know but they will suck to put on. too take full potential mybe later in life add high flow cats or cat. They will add some bling bling too wich will grow on you in the engine bay. yea i dont think programmers will had a whole lot. But mybe look up some dyno graphs, because sometimes it may not add a lot to pick power but may add more then you think at some other rpm. This would broudin the power band a bit.2000 trans am auto, Afr 205,tr 220/220 112, mti lid, 160t,umi sfc, hooker headers and ory y,loud mouth. bellow,pr's,harland rockers, new lifters,ls6 oilpump, rollermaster doubler roller, msd wires.

I think when I'm gonna get headers, I'll shoot for AS&M mid-length. I've heard they cost some $$$, but I'm gonna get what I want when the time comes. I've heard that SLP shorties in combination with a random tech y-pipe makes an awesome combo also. Just try and narrow down what you want by going through variables ($$$, easy plug access or not, LT, shorties, mid-length, etc...) When you put on headers, just try and make sure the rest of your exhaust isn't restrictive (new y-pipe, hi flow cat or off road y pipe, catback)...and make sure they're also ceramic coated. It's definitely worth the extra money.
A good way to get free HP is by doing this mod located here This is the throttle body coolant bypass mod. All you're basically doing, is diverting hot coolant from enetering your TB.....which heats up your intake air = less power. The purpose of this is so your TB blades don't freeze up in the winter...but I wouldn't be too worried about that one. It would have to be pretty darn cold to pull that one off. I (minimally as possible) drove my car through this past Chicago winter...and it gets pretty cold here might I add...no problems what so ever.
The rest of that site is great also...you'll find a lot of useful information there. Props to shoebox again for his site...helped my keister out many times already.black 95 t/a, a4, beefed up tranny w/ higher stall converter, transgo shift kit, trans temp gauge, trans cooler, richmond 3.73's, loudmouth, hypertech programmer, 160 thermo, descreened maf, TB bypass and airfoil, trick flow intake elbow, underdrive pulleys, moroso cai, edelbrock panhard rod, bmr stb, slp sfc's, fiberglass firehawk hood, hawk pads, taylor wires, ngk plugs, royal purple fluids,...and hopefully more to come

I did not even see you lived in IL also fastTA I have a buddy that also have a 2000 TA REALLY NICE CAR and another friend that has a 2001 nice z28. I dont drive my car much it gets stored in my garage until I get e new part then part goes on and then it goes out for a ride =}. It's paid off and just sitting. I just put on a small mod a 160 degree thermo and forgot to close the bleader valve all the way before I took it for a ride =} Needless to say I needed a little more anitifreeze! I put the programmer on and I can feel a very SMOOTH difference in the ride now but I was not able to answer (TUNE) anything else but my tire rating and my rear end gear. It auto programmed the rest! Any sugestions? Did I do something wrong? I thought I would have more options to change!

If you have the HPP3, you should have been able to go through many other options. It will ask you question by question, and you decide how you want to set up your ride.
I believe the options for the HPP3 off the top of my head are
Power Tune
Fan Settings
Rear End Gear Ratio
Tire Size
Tire Rating
Firmer Shifts
Rev Limiter
Shift Pointsblack 95 t/a, a4, beefed up tranny w/ higher stall converter, transgo shift kit, trans temp gauge, trans cooler, richmond 3.73's, loudmouth, hypertech programmer, 160 thermo, descreened maf, TB bypass and airfoil, trick flow intake elbow, underdrive pulleys, moroso cai, edelbrock panhard rod, bmr stb, slp sfc's, fiberglass firehawk hood, hawk pads, taylor wires, ngk plugs, royal purple fluids,...and hopefully more to come
