  • help needed fon choosing seats

Hey everyone, I am new to this forum because i just bought my 83 trans am. I searched and couldn't find any threads about how possible (direct bolt-in or major modifications needed) it is to put the seats out of a fourth generation trans am or camaro into my 83 trans am. Any help would be much appreciated.

Never done it, but I would imagine, at worst youd have to make some adapters out of some plate steel. Just some drilling and tapping, maybe a little welding in order to fasten the new nuts onto the plate steel.

Or you could drill new holes in the floor and weld the new nuts to the under side of the floor pans. For all I know they could bolt right in though???

better yet, if you can find seats out of a later 3rd gen like my 92 GTA, the seat are almost identical to 4th gen Trans Ams...if you just took a quick look at both my TA and GTA seats, you'd swear they are the same... well, except for color. I know that a 92 seat would be a direct bolt on...i'll check if my TA and GTA have the same mounting points.
