  • 1.6 RR Rockers

Ok I want to do this to get a little bit more power out of the engine. Which ones should I get and are there any install guides for these anywhere? Links or pics would be helpfull. And what woudl I have to do to the valve covers, or what ones could I buy to help them fit.

Ok, the best would be the NonSelf Aligned ones, with 7/16" studs (the stock are 3/8" and Self Aligned): less noise, more strong and let you upgrade the engine to bigger camshaft.
Then a better valve springs, double coil (Comp Cams 986-16) Hardened pushrods (CCA-7808-16) and guideplates (a must if you are going to install RR NSA..).For the guideplates on an LT1 head you need 8 GM p/n 14011051 plus 2 Valve Cover Gaskets P/N 10108625. CCA-503-16 Competition Cams Valve Seals CCA-613-16 Competition Cams Super Valve Locks CCA-740-16 Competition Cams Steel Valve Spring Retainers.
No need new valve covers. You will probably need to cut out the web that supports the center bolt tubes on one side of the tube only. Do not cut out the tube or the other side of the web, or you will have oil leaks. The baffle for the air supply hose to the passenger side cover may need to be altered as well.
If you have a wide budget, you will want to replace valve covers by taller ones, but you'll need:
    LT4 VALVE COVER (DRIVER SIDE) 1 12552321
    LT4 VALVE COVER (PASSENGER SIDE) 1 12552322
    VALVE COVER SCREWS 8 10108675
    VALVE COVER STUDS 8 10108674
    OIL FILLER CAP 1 12555685

    Current pricing:

    12552321 $80.85

    12552322 $86.40

    10108675 $0.88

    10108674 $2.93

    12555685 $4.20

The covers use a special gasket that should come installed on the cover, though there have been some people that have gotten covers that had no gaskets.

    10108625 gasket $8.54

You may also want to add the Corvette PCV/CCV hose that goes from the throttle body to the passenger vave cover.

    12557604 hose $3.39
Now, there are a composite or aluminium valve covers, like these ones

Well, that was my summer project until the dang DTC P0300 appears. All this info was given by Kevin Grubbs, Shoebox (Rob) and another f bros .
Hope this helps you to make the right purchases.
    Take care

BTW: You'll expect 20-25 HP more depending your engine and mods.
