Ah, yes...our brothers 'down under'...or, what GM COULD have been had the lawyers and bean counters not run out all the 'car guys'.

Personally, as long as they remember to put the steering wheel on the correct side, I don't care what they send over here...I'll drive it!

IMO it looks like they know what they are doing...more then I can say for us.

FYI there was a issue (car and driver, road and track) that I can't remember, but had a Holden Monaro SV (somein like that) aka GTO going up against a M5...the Monaro beat the M3 in every aspect...except for refinment...and was a whole bunch cheaper, and better looking, and...lots of other things.

I think my favorite Holden is the El Camino type car/truck. LS1 and a 6sp in a light and sleek lookin unit. Super nice but I forget the name.

The same goes for GM in Europe. They make some decent and sharp looking cars.

Some of them were americanized and brought over here. One being the Pontiac LeMans and the Caddy Catera a couple of years back. What a sad excuse of cars compared to the sporty versions they had out over there.

They don't have the big engines (5.8L) due to economic reasons but they sure give the rest of them a good run for the money.

What is GM doing over here? Seems to me they are getting old and soft.

Take a look at this thread:

              http://www.f-body.com/index.html/sho...&threadid=1408

Monte Carlo is slated for a V8 with rumored 285HP. Pontiac has the GPX line coming out with enhanced suspension and increased power. New Corvette will debut in January. Caddy XLR will be on sale soon. GenIV V8 will debut in Corvette with what should be 6.0L displacement. Also GenIV engines will be available in 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, and 6.2L displacements. 3 valve pushrod V8 in development as well as a seamless Displacement on Demand system to be debuting in trucks and then in cars. Good leads on a Camaro in development for 2007 release as well as GTO on a new platform in 2006 or so.

That's just what we know about now on the performance side.
