    Mobil 1 oil filter

    Changed my oil yesterday. Murrays had to special order my K&N oil filter, so I said screw it and got the Mobil 1.

    I get home and pull off my K&N and the Mobil 1 is half the size. The book said M1-202/M1-111. They didn't even carry 202, so I got the 111.

    Anybody else notice this? The K&N is like 5-6 inches long, and the Mobil 1 is about 3-4. What gives? It all seems fine but I just don't want this thing exploding.

    Yea. I was kinda shocked when I got back from autozone and took the old filter out. I don't know what brand the old one was (all white, all markings worn off) but it was easily twise the size of the mobil 1 filter.

      I know the book doesn't say it but the filter you want is a M1-302.
      2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning

          Oh yea. It's a 1 quart size filter. Not the short one. It's the same size as a PH8 (Ford Chrysler).
