How much faster is a 2001 + Trans Am over a 1999, or 2000 Trans Am. Probably going to buy 1 by this time next year. (If I wait a whole year might look into a 2001 since they will be cheaper then.) I will make sure I get 1 with the 3.23 gears this time. (Whats the code # for these gears, and is it in the glove compartment box?) Anything else I should look for? Will be automatic again.

I doubt there much if any faster its only 5 more hp over the 99'sR.I.P. 2001 Trans Am- C5's 17" and 18", way too expensive stereo, SLP LM, WS6 hood, and more to come.

The 01s and 02s have the LS6 intake. This is good for more than 5 HP and if you plan to do any mods on a 98-00 you will end up tracking down a LS6 intake. The performance is probably not measurably different -0 there is probably more variance from car to car (like an 00 vs 00_) than 00 vs 01.
