I've read alot about the Spec clutches and everyone that has had them installed likes them alot. When I had my clutch replaced I got a good deal on the stock part so I went with that. Ive put over 6000 miles on it already and it grabs just as hard as when I had it done. I saved some money and the performance of it has been great. I got a new flywheel also, you may want to consider doing that as well.1996 Z-28 6 speed, Airfoil, K&N FIPK, Flowmaster muffler, Motive 3.73 gears, BBK shorty headers, cut-out, LS1 Driveshaft, no power options (Rare), Prothane tranny mount, MSD 8.5mm wires, Accel U-Groove Plugs, Chrome hurst short throw, TB Bypass, ES Torque arm mount, BMR subframe connectors (weld-in), Lt4 Knock Module, Descreened MAF, '02 SS wheels, Pioneer HU, MTX & JL amps, 2 12" JBL's, T-Top Conversion!

I pulled out my Ac Delco books and found the clutch kit for an 88 Trans Am to be part #381151, the flywheel is #388022 which you will probably be able to resurface like you said. There was a service bullitin in the book stating that when replacing the clutch in your cars year to check the clutch cover mounting bolts working themselves loose. Hope this helps1996 Z-28 6 speed, Airfoil, K&N FIPK, Flowmaster muffler, Motive 3.73 gears, BBK shorty headers, cut-out, LS1 Driveshaft, no power options (Rare), Prothane tranny mount, MSD 8.5mm wires, Accel U-Groove Plugs, Chrome hurst short throw, TB Bypass, ES Torque arm mount, BMR subframe connectors (weld-in), Lt4 Knock Module, Descreened MAF, '02 SS wheels, Pioneer HU, MTX & JL amps, 2 12" JBL's, T-Top Conversion!
