I tmight be a bad wheel sensor. TCS uses the sensors on each wheel hub.

Does the TCS light only come on when you push the button?

The car starts with the traction control on. Pressing the button turns it off. Light shows you its not working since you turned it off. Could that be the problem?

          I wish
when I turn the ignition on it comes on, then goes away and comes back on in a few seconds and remains on
the light in the tcs off button is on all the time and it doesnt do anything when I press it

I thought the abs light would come on if one of the sensors in the wheel hubs would be bad , and I thought the tcs uses the abs sensors , is that right?

The light tells you the system is not working. Since your original post said "when I press the tcs button nothing happens, light on"..... I was simply asking if you were aware of the fact that pushing the button turns the light on. It really wasn't clear from your original post that it comes in intermittently, whether you push the button or not. My apologies.

You are correct... it may also not be working because some component in the system is faulty, and that includes the sensors and the electrical continuity in the harness wires.

You need to find someone with a Tech 2 that can read the EBCM module and whatever else interfaces with the TCS system.

              my mistake
do you know where I can get a tech 2 scan tool?

That's the standard tool used by all GM dealer service techs. Not a lot of them in private hands because of the cost.

There might also be toold made by Snap-On or similar, byut not sure how likely you are to find them where you are.

                  update on tcs

i have replaced the battery and now it works for a while than it stops working and both abs and tcs lights turn on. The abs light bulb was burnt thats why i thought the abs was good when in fact it wasnt working.

I was thinking, if the ebcm detects a failure while driving , could it be the voltage too low, which disables the abs, and the tcs cant work without the abs? the only mod on this car is an underdrive pulley, which makes the voltyage gage drop in the yellow zone whenever the revs are under 1500

                  This make any sense?
