    315/35-17 = 25.66"

    275/40-17 = 25.66"

    245/50-16 = 25.66"

All of those are equivalent to the stock tire size with "Z" rated tire option.

Thanks Fred. I knew they were the same height as the stock 245/50/16s, but I didn't know what that was. I thought it was kinda dumb that my HPPIII required me to put a number in when I changed the gears. I put in 26 so I was close; I will make the change tonight.

      THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the HPP forces you to choose 1/4" increments, unlike the actual factory programming, which lets you enter any two decimal number you want. Since the HPP forces you to choose 25.50 or 25.75, try both and see which gives you the best speedo results. I managed to hold my Formula at a constant 60mph for 40 miles on the PA Turnpike to calibrate it against the mile markers.... both speedo and odo - using the PCM data for rpm and mph. Back calculating, I found that 25.58" produced the most accurate results. At the time, I was running 275/40-17 GoodYear GS-C's.

I am not impressed with the HPPIII solution to this. It seems as though, the stock tire height should be an option. I am confused as to why it prompts me for changing my tire height when I change the gear ratio. To me, it stand to reason that most people, have a stock tire configuration and change gears. Some people put slicks on the car, but could care less what the spedo is doing on the 1/4 mile. I don't get it. Someday, I will get LT1 edit, when I need it

Oh, could you recommend a good PC Software based scanning tool that I could use on my cars? I have mostly OBDII cars, but my '94 Roadmaster is ODBI. I would love to start using my laptop, and scan it when it is running, etc.

I used the 26.75" setting with the HPP and worked better than the 26.5". However, I tested the difference by driving at a steady speed and passing through one of those police radars that they put on the street to tell you how fast you're going. I made sure there were no other cars around when I did this too.
