  • NFB: 91 Super Coupe head gasket

I am in need of a really good head gasket for a 91 super coupe. It keeps poping the felpro one. Is there a good company that makes a MLS or straight up brass one? Felpro and Mr. Gasket dont make HI-Pro gaskets for this car.

That is the model with the supercharged V6.

You could have the head o-ringed. It's a pretty common practice on high boost engines.

Actually, you have a couple of options. If you were doing the whole motor, you could O-ring the block or if you're just freshening the upper end, you can O-ring the head. The only real downside is that tuning needs to be dead on. The headgasket is meant to be sort of the safety..... detonation will push out the gasket before anything else. If you o-ring the the heaq or block, that safety is gone and the next thing to let go is probably a bearing, rod, piston, etc. Careful attention to tuning is the key, then it is very safe.

Are you sure the heads are flat? I've seen FelPro gaskets take a lot of abuse.
