  • SES...EGR valve sensor A circuit low

I got a code P0405 twice this week. It seems to be EGR related - The code is listed as "EGR valave sensor A circuit low", but I don't know what that means exactly.

Should I look at replacing or cleaning the EGR valve. Or it almost sounds like it is an electrical problem with the sensor - maybe a fuse or ground wire off.

    Any suggestions?

Per the GM diagnostics website, for the 1999 LS1:

P0405 = EGR Valve Position Sensor Circuit Low Voltage.

This DTC detects if the pintle position feedback circuit is open or grounded.

EGR feedback sensor signal < 0.14 volts.
Appears to be an electrical problem related to the pintle position sensor or the wiring for that sensor.

      Thanks Fred..

I will check the wire connections, and maybe I will go ahead and clean the EGR while I am in there.
