  • Winter Tire Question... KEN C ???

My dad and I are going to go out and get me some winter tires this week. I currently have an 04 Subaru WRX STI. Well, I have some performance tires on the car right now.......Anyways, I was looking at the Blizzaks.. My dad heard a lot of good things about them.. I'm thinking if I get 4 of those, I'll hold the road like no tomorrow, especially with the AWD... What do you all think? Any recommendations?

      Hey Ken

      Ken,

Will they handle much better in the snow then the best ALL terain tire you could buy?? I've never used a snow tire before, so I don't know much about them... Whats the difference between an all terain tire and a snow tire? Is the snow tire's grooves cut deeper and the tire itself is a little stickier to pack the snow??? Please let me know.

      THanks,
      Jeff

        Jeff,

All terrain tires typically suck in the snow, especially hard pack & ice. They don't have the siping and softer compound of a snow tire.
