A rear from a 4th gen will bolt right in. all the V8 models had disks and posi. You can find them for around $250 complete.

Ive got an LS1 rear in my 91 RS Camaro. They bolt right in, but your wheels will be pushed out about 1.5 inches on each side. Mine just barely fit under the wheel wells! I LOVE IT!

thanks guys. ive heard that when you put in a rear end you got to watch the pinion angle. that shouldnt be a prob with this huh

no worries. The torque arm will hold the correct pinion angle.
The only way you'd have to woory about pinion angle was if you had an aftermarket adjustable torque arm.

man i have been searching a lot of sites and most of the performance rear ends are running about $1900. If i gotta spend that much i will but if yall know another site that can hook up with a good rear end for a great price i would be ever so pleased.

FYI the LS1s except the SLP cars have a Torsen not a limited slip (posi). I know it's technical but they are quite different.

Also the spare tire in a LT1 car which is 15" will not fit over the brakes of a LS1 so I amagine a 3rd gen won't either.

I guess I didn't make my point clear enough. If you have 15" wheels, they won't fit over the brakes.

Even some 16" 3rd gen wheels wont fit. My 16" 91-92 anniversary wheels fit over the LS1 brakes.

Check the link below to see if your wheels will fit.

seems as if we kinda side tracked a bit. but it brings up another question. my car came with 14 inch wheels and from what i have been reading here they might not fit. but i have a tendency to over think things. i got no prob puting 16's on but will that fit under the fender. i was thinking bout lifting the rear up a bit to give her a bit of a stance cause im going to put heaver strunts and spring under the front to acomadate for the added weight of the 350. and another question. do i buy a used 4th gen rear end or buy a brand new one. it dont make too much diff to me cept for the added cash.

thanks for the pic it gives me a finished look. about the iroc 16 well i didnt want to go back to factory wheels i persanaly hate those honey comeb looking wheels. havent put much thought into exactly what wheels i want but i do know that the 14'' weld raceing wheels that i got are gunna be changed out. but i got to get the rear end in first, wondering if the 14 s will work for a temp mock up. untill i find the ones i want. but right now i got lots of time to wait. (yeah for all the money going to christmas).
