    2000 Camaro V-6,, can I disconnect the battery to clear stored trouble codes? someone told me I need a scanner. thanks

    Unless the V6 is different from the V8, you can remove the PCM fuse in the driver's side fuse panel directly on the left side of the dashboard (you need to open the door to get to it). Removing this fuse for a couple minutes clears the whole PCM. Although I think it also clears the BLMs and IAC data, which would need to be relearned. If you don't want to clear those out along with the codes, then get a laptop/cable or scanner.
