  • Tire question

I want to get some snow tires put on some stock salad shooters. On tirerack.com the closest size they have to the oem tire size for the blizzaks is 225/55-16. Would that fit on the rim safely?

Also, what is the difference between the blizzak lm-22 and lm-25 tire?

I know that this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it.

I believe that's the size I'm running on 16x8's. Unfortunately I can't check right now as the they're in storage. The tire height is definitely a good substitute.

I was actually running WS50 Blizzaks. Awesome tire! I don't know much about the LM's. I did find this...LM tires sacrifice some snow/ice traction for better dry performance. I suppose the lm-25 sacrifices a little more snow traction???

What Makes the Blizzak LM-18, LM-22 and LM-25 Tires Different?

These studless winter tires are performance winter tires developed for use in Europe and around the world. In order to accommodate high-speed European driving, they trade some snow and ice traction for handling and high-speed capability by featuring a winter driving tread compound able to support its H-speed rating. The Blizzak LM-18 tires are for drivers of SUVs and the LM-22 and LM-25 tires are for the drivers of high performance sport cars, sport coupes and sport sedans. Although these tires feature a single winter tread compound, "snow platform" tread depth indicators are used to identify when the tire should be retired from winter service.
