  • Phew...It started in frozen weather!

Last night was the record low for this year here in doylestown, last night was below the 8 mark. This morning it reads 1 degree!!!! My car was making a wierd noise before start up because the battery was acting up, as soon as it turned over it fired up no problem! I didnt think it would start, although I think my powersteering fluid was frozen, cause the power steering was loud! Just sitting at idle it was whining but is normal after about 5 min of starting.

I envy those who have a warm climate year round

Yeah, it was 2 degrees here in NJ this morning. My 96 SS is in the garage getting headers installed(garage is not heated so it's no fun working in this weather) but my 88 4Runner managed to start up and get me to work. You should have heard the speedometer cable screaming until it warmed up!

lol, yea cold weather sucks man. When I do work in the garage i use an old portable heater to heat it up a little before i attempt to work on anything. They sell small heater pretty cheap at lowes/home depot.

        1*F is nothing guys.
My bird started up fine all last week when it was hitting -30*C when I leave for work in the morning (-22*F). Thats without a block heater, parked on the street.
