hey you guys seem to be able to anwser all my questions and help with part numbers so heres another one for you. My 78 formula has the standand clutch fan on it but the clutch is starting to act funny and i've been looking around and been wondering if it would be a "crazy" idea to just pull off the whole fan assembly and get a electric fan for it cause then i won't ever have to worry about the clutch and it should give me a few extra hp right? i've tried looking around for a kit but im not sure on how much Cfm i would need for my car to be a safe daily driver, nor have i herd any one say anything about any of the manufacturs good or bad, basicly what im asking is does any one have any imput or adive on if i should get an electric fan and if so any brands to try to avoid?

I put one of these http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/ford-mustang.html on my 85 Mustang and I tell you it added more horsepower than the cam change did. I was amazed. The speed in which it revved was way faster after the install.

Here is the universal kit. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/black-magic.html
Here is the list of all of them. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/electric-fans.html

FYI I never had a problem with the fan. It was really nice because there is a knob on top to adjust the temperature in which it turns on. So it's really easy to adjust. That was arguably the best mod I did to that car and when I got through the only piece of the entire drive train that wasn't touched was the short block.

As for the CFM you need it depends on several things. How many mods and such but the most important is whether you have A/C or not.

Here is a link on how to choose. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/howtoelectric.html Measure the radiator and find the biggest one that fits.
2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning

    1995 Z28, many mods, SOLD

so what kinda CFM would i slightly modded 350 need to be safe(right now its stock but i wanna put on a intake, headers, 1.6 rocker arms little things like that) i wouldn't imagine much more then 300 hp out of it and yes i do have A/C but i don't use it cause i live in washington and it only hits 90 degrees a couple times a year so i'm prolly just gonna take it out and while im working on the cooling system i just gotta know is a radiatior really gonna be worth 600$ or can a good stock unit and a powerful fan and a high flow water pump handle my engine or even a more radical design that may be floating in my head... all im saying is 500Hp...
