A bone stock LS1 or even LT1 is a rarity in TX. I guess that's why they say our state will kick your state's (_|_)!

You will definitely run with one until about 50 or so with your mods - maybe better. I have drag raced a friend of mine a couple of times - he has a stock 93 Trans Am. I am always amazed at how well he stays with me until about 35. His is a 6 speed - your converter will definitely help especially if the other driver is in a manual and is not a good driver.
I had my butt handed to me at the track a couple of times by cars with much less power than mine but with high stall converters.Silver 02 WS-6, 6 speed, Corsa cat-back, SLP lid, K&N filter, BMR STB, !CAGs, Lou's short stick, MSD wires, MTI "Hammer" cam, ASP underdrive pulley, Hooker LTs, Hooker ORY, Comp 918s, TR pushrods, UMI Sfcs, UMI LCAs, NGK TR55s, Hotchkis springs
