I have all my mods in the sig, i recently had the car tuned and dynoed on a mustang dyno,it put down 325 hp and 346 torque, just for curiousity i tried on a dynojet dyno and it put down 335 hp with 368 torque.Of course i was hoping for more but both guys guessed before we ran it and they were pretty close to what i put down.Does this sound reasonable to you guys?I would like to keep the boost where its at and possibly freshen the motor and do some head work/cam.My goal would be 500 hp to the wheels but im not sure the most effective way to get there. Please if anyone has any ideas or experience with a good setup let me know.

Did you mean to type that you had it tuned on a "Mustang", and then tried a "Dynojet", or vis-a-versa? Doesn't make much sense otherwise.Originally posted by 95 GA/TAI have all my mods in the sig, i recently had the car tuned and dynoed on a mustang dyno,it put down 325 hp and 346 torque, just for fun i tried on a mustang dyno and it did a 335 hp with 368 torque.Of course i was hoping for more but both guys guessed before we ran it and they were pretty close to what i put down.Does this sound reasonable to you guys?I would like to keep the boost where its at and possibly freshen the motor and do some head work/cam.My goal would be 500 hp to the wheels but im not sure the most effective way to get there. Please if anyone has any ideas or experience with a good setup let me know.
There is a year-old issue of Hot Rod magazine that compare a 200rwHP Mustang GT on 5 different dynots. The Mustang produced (if I recall correctly) HP results abour 5% lower than the Dynojet, and a bit larger difference on torque.
To do a comparison, you need to include data about what correction factors/standards were used, to insure they were comparable. Were both dynos "SAE" corrected, or both "Standard" corrected?Fred

yes,(im a moron) sorry for the confusion, what i meant was that i had it dynoed on a mustang dyno and a dynojet dyno. The dynojet was SAE,im not sure what the mustang was.I was just curious if those numbers seemed in the ball park for the mods i have.Ill try to find out about the mustang tomorrow. Thanks for catchin that injuneer, that made no sense.

Sounds right to me. The 3.73s will actually hinder the dyno figures a hair, all that really matters is how well it runs.
As far as your goal of 500 rwhp without raising the boost, I dunno about that one. That kind of power level requires a re-think. Heads, cam, pistons, bottom end, all equal $$$$. Even then, without a few more cubes I don't know how you'll get 500 rwhp on just 6psi without losing a decent amout of streetability in the process. Make a stroker and you're there.

Have you verified that you are actually getting 6 lbs at the manifold? You may have a so called "6 lb" pulley, but at only 335 RWHP, you are most likely not getting 6 lbs at the manifold. It is also possible that you are getting boost bleedoff through the PCV system or piston rings.Originally posted by 95 GA/TAI have all my mods in the sig, i recently had the car tuned and dynoed on a mustang dyno,it put down 325 hp and 346 torque, just for curiousity i tried on a dynojet dyno and it put down 335 hp with 368 torque.Of course i was hoping for more but both guys guessed before we ran it and they were pretty close to what i put down.Does this sound reasonable to you guys?I would like to keep the boost where its at and possibly freshen the motor and do some head work/cam.My goal would be 500 hp to the wheels but im not sure the most effective way to get there. Please if anyone has any ideas or experience with a good setup let me know.
I also don't see a intercooler mentioned in your sig. An intercooler would rob a few pounds of boost but would drastically improve your power and more importantly significantly help to narrow your chances of detonation or worse pre-ignition. You can offset the 1-2 lb pressure drop across the intercooler by going to a smaller higher boost head unit pulley or a larger crank pulley, or a combination of the two. An LT1 that has an otherwise healthy longblock can easily handle 8lbs the manifold with proper tuning and a well setup intercooler.

I do have a boost gauge,it shows barely 6 psi at wot at 5600 rpm.The peak horsepower drops off about 5300-5400 rpm.I think can get a couple more pounds out of the supercharger(diff pulley),i wasnt sure if 500hp was even realistic without going to a stroker .I was looking at eportworks.com and saw the le2 package,it shows 400-420 rwhp,I was wondering with the blower added to that do you think it would get me close or would i still have to do internal work.I know atleast pistons would be good but i was curious if you needed any major internal mods to go with his work.Im new to all this so if im asking dumb questions forgive me,i sure enjoy reading and trying to learn this stuff so thanks for all the help.

Most of the guys I've seen running a true 6lbs out of a Powerdyne and stock longblock were right at 400 RWHP. That was with no intercooler.Originally posted by 95 GA/TAI do have a boost gauge,it shows barely 6 psi at wot at 5600 rpm.The peak horsepower drops off about 5300-5400 rpm.I think can get a couple more pounds out of the supercharger(diff pulley),i wasnt sure if 500hp was even realistic without going to a stroker .I was looking at eportworks.com and saw the le2 package,it shows 400-420 rwhp,I was wondering with the blower added to that do you think it would get me close or would i still have to do internal work.I know atleast pistons would be good but i was curious if you needed any major internal mods to go with his work.Im new to all this so if im asking dumb questions forgive me,i sure enjoy reading and trying to learn this stuff so thanks for all the help.
If you are talking about 500 hp at the crank, that would be an easy accomplishment with just heads/cam/intake. Add 6lbs of boost and 500 RWHP is easy.
From my experience, posts I've read, and word of mouth, most of the LT1 stock bottom ends held up until around 530-550 hp. Sometimes less, sometimes more. The hyper-you-breaked-ems and your stock upper valvetrain will be the first to let go most likely. It's just a roll of the dice!
