    I HAVE A 1993 CAMARO Z28 WITH THE 2.73 GEARS IN IT. I WANT TO CHANGE THEM TO 4.10'S BUT I DONT KNOW IF MY REAR END IS A 7.5 OR A 8.8 IS THERE ANY WAY TO CHECK THAT MY TAG IS GONE OFF THE REAR END SO I WAS WOUNDERING IF YOU COULD MEASURE IT SOME HOW TO TELL

    u should be 7.5/7.650 a 8.8 is a ford number i beleive. do u have a manual or auto? if a auto id prob look at 3.73 max so u can still drive down the highway

      I edited your header to get rid of the all capital letters......... please take the "caps lock" key off.

      All 4th gen cars starting in 93 are the 10 bolt rear directly from the S-10. They are known as a 7.5 inch and to change gears you will need either a 3 series carrier or a special gearset with a thicker ring gear to compensate.

        well i have been told that some of the later camaro have the 8.8 rear end and i dont think that is a ford rear but i could be wrong as well my car is a manual

            One more time.... ALL 4th Gen F-Bodys left the factory with the 7.5/7.625" 10-bolt rear axel assembly. There are NO.... repeat NO..... 8.8" rears in any 4th Gens, unless someone went through the trouble to convert one. The aftermarket 12-bolt (Strange or Moser) that many of us run has an 8.875" ring gear. There are some low $$$$ torque arm conversions available on the 8.8" Ford rears. GM made 10-bolt rears in 7.5/7.625", and in 8.2" (F-Body 1967-71) and 8.5" (F-Body 1972-81) ring gear diameters, but only the 7.5" 10-bolts used in the 4th Gens.

            If your 1993 has the T56 M6 and a 2.73 rear axle ratio, it means you have the M28 tranny, with the 3.36:1 first gear ratio. You might want to think twice about installing 4.10's with that tranny..... first gear will be a stump-puller. The 1993's also came with the M29 T56, with 2.97 first gear and 3.23 rear axle ratio. The 1994 and later T56's are all 2.66 first gear with a 3.42 rear axle ratio. The 2.66 first gear reasponds well to the 4.10's and the steeper overdrive 6th gear (0.50 in the 94's, 0.62 in the 93's) helps keep things manageable. Of course if its a track only car, and maybe running the 1/8th mile, the 4.10's might work.
