how is this set up on my trans am 2001 ws6 with 80k miles ,daily driver (6 to 8 miles everyday), and i don't do drag.Precision Race Components 5.3L Stage 2.5 Cylinder Heads Fully CNC Ported & Assembled With 2.04" Intake Valves, 1.575" Exhaust Valves, & PRC Platiunum Springs,TSP Hardened Pushrods ,TSP Torquer Revision 2 232/234 .595/.598 112+2 Camshaft ,TSP Ported LS6 Oil Pump,Rollmaster Double-Roller Adjustable Timing Set,LS1 ASP Racing 25% Underdrive Crank/Alternator Pulleys.

how much hp can i get plus whatever i have in my sig?
will this setup gonna mess up my rear end even though i don't do drag?
    and wth is flycut ?

don't know about the power exactly but it should be pretty sick, and as long as your not smashing through the gears you "shouldn't" hurt your rear... but it will be a real shame to see a car with that kinda engine never see the strip even once...

You will see 410-430 at the rear wheels with a good tune. That is a pretty big cam for a street-driven car with no interest in going to the track. While it is true that cam can be "tuned" to be driven on the street I would suggest something in the 224-226 duration for your cam. You will only have problems with the rear end if you launch the car on sticky tires (ie drag radials or E/T streets). What is your goal if not going to the track? That is a lot of stuff for an everyday "cruiser". I have read hundreds of threads on the right cam and the biggest mistake most people make is not figuring out what they want the car to be before they pick a cam.

I don't know if it's different for LT1's, but when I called combination motorsports, and told them that I use my car as a DD, and I didn't want to spin it too high, they recommended a 227/233. The cam he described above doesn't seem like it would be too extreme for the street.

LT1s must be different. That is about as long a duration cam as you can use in an LS1. The 112 LSA will give you the rough idle that sounds so cool though

A 232/234 cam can easily be tuned to run perfectly fine in a daily driver especially with the 2 degree ground in advance that you posted. Minimal if any cam surge, good low end power, meaty torque curve, and a stellar top end. Even a t-rex cam can be tuned to be driven in a daily driver without and adverse driveability. In fact with ported heads, anything less than a 230 intake duration would be a waste of time and money in an LS1.

Half the time when people go to get their newly h/c LS1 tuned, they get a "lazy" tune and the tuner does take the time to tune everything correctly. It just takes a tuner who knows what they are doing and takes pride in his tunes.
