to comment to the man above me around where i live most third gen are still good deals 1K for a beater-5K for the perfect never driven ones... but for the real question i'd say do the conversion and put the ls1-t56 combo depending on how you feel about your car if you plan on selling it don't but if your not planning on selling it then don't worry about it... i know my plans for my car are gonna break the bank a couple times over but i don't plan on selling my car so imma go ahead and do it

Yeah, there are some decent deals out there. The thing is, I've seen 305 Irocs with 150k miles go for $6,000. That's rediculous.
Red 95 Trans Am: M6, Moroso CAI, Magnaflow, Spohn sway bars, back to life as of 2/15/10!!!
      SOLD- Kinda miss it
94 Del Sol VTEC: 27 city/ 33 highway, knee deep in slowness
      SOLD- Good riddance!
2006 Ford Fusion: 2.3, 5 speed, could run 15lbs of boost with a 150 shot and it'd still be slow

thats what you call someone asking way to much and somebody else with more money then brains... no offense to anyone who did that... cause i've seen I-ROC with just under or around 100K going for 4-5K. Of course this is washington where a T-top or convertable is pointless it rains almost all year long

I think that the idea of a late 3rd gen model with a lt1 or ls1 6 speed would be awesome. I'd personaly do it. But sounds like you may have other responibilitys too.
