From what I hear on here is the SLP loudmouths are pretty loud. I think they have a resonator instead of a muffler.
    Well... now that's just anal.

    And stupid.

Stock y-pipe = NASTY... flattened out and bent into all kinds of convoluted ways...

raspy... hmm... well.... someone who has smoked a pack a day for 40 years would have a raspy voice... i am not sure how to apply it to mufflers.

                Telecaster5000:

You really need to keep all thes virtually identical questions in a single thread.

                These will all be merged.

You want loud... I had a noise meter with me for a few dyno pulls we did on my car yesterday... at full throttle/full hit of nitrous it pegged the meter at 120dB. Actually painfull. Exhaust sytem consists of AS&M header, Borla XR1 shorty muffler, about 5-ft of 3" pipe, and a 90-degree turndown on each side.

so running no cats acually hurts your ears???

I just want it as loud as I can without hurting my ears or getting pulled over

                    Here's the bottom line.......

Like I said before, loud is a subjective subject. Asking someone else if your car is loud is going to get you different responses. Ditto with the law enforcment agencies. What one officer would ignore, another one who is having a bad day will pull you over. If you want loud, take my advice and put in cut outs. You can be loud when you want, quiet when you need to be. If you don't want to do that, go with a borla adjustable cat back. You can change the tone to suit your ear.

There is no right or wrong way to do this. If you make the car loud, you'll attract attention both good and bad. To further hash this subject is a waste of bandwidth.
