  • Brake line replacement

So, I'm thinking about replacing the brake lines on the Z with some Stainless ones. I'm wondering just how hard this is to do. Something I could attempt myself or would I be better off taking it in? Any other good mods I can do while I'm in the area? Thanks guys.

It's an easy switch but you will need someone to help you bleed your brakes when you are done. The pedal will feel harder when you are done.
2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning

    1995 Z28, many mods, SOLD

How worried should I be about brake fluid getting everywhere? The last thing I need is to have to worry about the paint. Thanks for the quick reply Jeff

Any brake fluid that spills will spill onto the floor. You can use a bucket to catch it. You can even bleed them by yourself if you go spend $35 on a mightyvac. I just got one recently and dont know how I survived without it anymore. I'm not in the least bit intimidated by brake work anymore, bleeding the lines by myself is a snap.

Cool. I still have to replace the rear brake lines with the stainless braided lines on my car. I just haven't had time or when I did I didn't have someone to help me bleed them. Problem solved.
