I'm doing the Timing Chain . . . got the timing cover off without having to lower the oil pan at all - chain looks a bit loose but it's not broke at all.
So what was causing that knocking sound in front of the motor??? Here's what happened: You know that key that holds the gear and reluctor wheel in place on the crank? The front part of the key broke off, releasing the reluctor wheel, bending it, and it was coliding with the cover and the gear. Son of a motherless goat!
I'm going to order a new reluctor wheel and timing set from Jason Cromer today and hopefully, I'll have it up and running next week.
