have everything disconnected except for these damn pesky flexplate bolts, how do we get them off???And are there 3 or 4 of them have a 91 firebird 5.0 tbi auto

    There are 3.

    Remove the access cover

rotate the motor to gain access to the first bolt
use a box wrench to remove the bolt

rotate motor to next bolt and repeat until you have all 3

Note: it may be necessary to devise a way to prevent the crank from turning as you loosen the flexplate bolts. See if you can jam a big screwdriver somewhere to hold it. Maybe between a belt and pulley or something.

Also, you are suppsed to use Loc-Tite on the converter/flexplate bolts, so it takes a good pull to break them loose.

Make sure you use Loc-Tite when you re-install the flexplate/converter bolts.
