Was curious to see if it was possible to drop a v8 into a 95 v6 5 speed camaro and if so, what other parts would need to be swapped out as well. About how much would it cost to do so? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

this has been discussed be4 and the answer is, to sell and just buy one. the cost is more then what the car with a v8 would cost. also not to be mean or anything, the search feature is really nice

new front suspension to hold the weight, new transmission because the 5 speed doesn't work with the lt1, new engine mounts to name a few things.... buy a new one

Despite the recommedations that you just by another car, many have done an LT1 swap from a V6. IMO, it would be best to find a donor car that had engine, transmission, computer/harness and k-member.

This is exactly correct. The only real way to do this swap is to park the V6 car next to a wrecked V8 car and swap entire engine cradles out the bottom. That includes the k-member, engine, transmission, front suspension and driveshaft. Also swap the rear axle assemblies. You'll also need to swap out the radiator, gauge cluster, PCM and engine harness.

There are way to many parts that differ between the V6 and V8 models to make a swap affordable any other way. After you take what you need from your wrecked V8 parts car you can bolt the V6 parts on it and sell it as a V6 parts car to recover some of your expenses.

You'll also need a new driveshaft, a one-piece from a V8 model, rather than the two-piece DS from the V6. Then you should consider a complete rear axle assembly swap from the V8 donor car, since the V8's all have limited slip differentials and disc brakes. Those were optional on the V6 models.
