  • Left over Bird

I'm in the process of restoring my 79 T/A It was fairly original (but in bad shape) when I bought it. I want to keep an original look to it, however I'm a little unsure of the Bird design on the hood.

This is a Nocturnal Blue T/A with light blue birds and pinstripes but the design is not the 5-color bird that I see on 79 Trans Ams. It is the 2-color like the 75-78 have.

Could this have been just a carry over option into 79? Or could it be that since my T/A is a code W 301, they used the older design?

I have to admit, I really like the older design over the 5-color (excluding the 10th aniversery) and will probley go that route anyway.

    What do you folks think?

could be a carry over or your 79 was made still during 78 and it got that bird, i know my 78 didn't even get a bird but it has both the esprit strip and the formula badges on it with a formula 400 hood, so it seems like they liked to mix and match
