Tranny question? (T56)

I want to switch to a T56 in my 96 TA and know a guy with a complete setup from a 00 SS. Will they interchange?? I think that the LS1 and the LT1's are the same bolt pattern and all but just want to make sure!!

No. LT1 and LS1 T-56's have a different bolt pattern, a different input shaft length, require a different bell housing, a different clutch and use different clutch hydraulics that are not interchangeable.
