Harsher shifts on cold engine?

I have the 4 speed auto with HPP+, and yes I chose to increase shift firmness. I've noticed for quite some time now that when the car is cold, the shifts seem a bit harder vs when the engine is at operating temperature. I'm talking about partial throttle here (I never floor it until the engine has warmed up to operating temps). Anyone else experience this? Thanks.

In the factory tables, you can adjust all of that for temperature, but the Hypertech is probably increasing the force motor pressure at too a low temperature for your application.

Do you have a stock converter? It would probably be less noticeable with a higher stall converter. Stock converters, though, don't slip as much, so they are going to bang the shifts more.

The transmission will shift more firmly when it is cold. That's normal.

Cool. I was just curious. The car has been doing that for quite some time, but always ran great!

The cold is very odd on my WS6. My 5th and 3rd gear grind going in sometimes and my clutch squeecks like no other. Not the case when it's warm.
