  • 95 Formula LT1, LH headlight motor

Each time I turn the headlights off the LH headlight motor runs about 6sec. heck of a noise. What is wrong?

Could be the gear starting to get stripped or it already is. Use the search feature to find posts on it, and replacement options, i think you can just replace the gear.

Again this will probably get moved out of the for sale trade forum into the tech section.

If you dont have the $ to spend on new metal gears, try the "free" fix here:
        http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headl....htm#FreeGuide

The above fix takes about 10 minutes, and is absolutely free.

        reason:
the mechanism only uses one side of the plastic gear, and over time it wears out. It is possible to rotate the gear 180 degrees and use the other side, which never got any use in the past, so it'll still be like new and work perfectly.

I used the free fix when I had my 94 back in 99. I had the same problem with my current car a couple summer's ago and broke down and got the metal gear. If you have to get the gear make sure you glue the housing down really tight. Apparently I hadnt and a year later it started making that dreaded noise again. I emailed Brent and he told me to check the housing that sometimes they come loose and the shaft comes out. Thats what happened to me. Easy fix tho..just epoxy it back again
