ok. first off, punctuation and spelling are your friends, it makes the posts much easier to understand. Also if was there anything wrong with the car when you bought it? v6 or v8? auto or manual? how many miles? With what you describe there are numerous things you want to check. But give us some info on the car first and take it from there....any SES codes that are being thrown when the car was started? Also any background info on the problem would be helpful, more info first.

Hey, I have a 94 Camaro that I got for $800. I think the guy who had it before me took it ba-ha racing because I already had to change the transmission on it. ????? When I turn the ignition key it turns over but won't start. When I think it's going to start and I stop turning the ignition key, it backfires. Could this be a fuel filter problem? If not, what could be the problem? Please respond. Your help would be grateful.

There could be many things wrong with your car. The only way to know is to get a scanner on it. A few of the things is it could be a stuck EGR valve or a bad OPTI (if it has a V8). Anything anyone can say is just a guess. You could throw a lot of money at it until you happen to find the bad part if you don't scan it.

perhaps it was the Idle Air control???? Well if nothing else check all of the igntion system, distributor-plugs-wires-ICM- etc. And try adn see fi there are any codes stored in the computer.

since my engine does have 240,000 miles on it does any body think that it would be worth it if i changed the car into a z28 with a LS1 engine in it or would it be easier just to leave it the way it is??

get spray bottle, fill it with water with the motor running spray each spark plug wire both at the conectors and the length, once u hit the bad one it will arc of onto another ground. theres another menthod but its kinda dangerous
