Help me pick a spark plug!!

    Help me pick a spark plug!!

    I am having some trouble picking a spark plug an am looking to the knowledge of the board to help me. Here are the parts involved, please help!!

    388ci

    Trick flow heads flowing around 300cfm

    Ford Racing 42 pound injectors

    Elite Spark plug wires

    MSD6AL

    Blaster coil

    I am not sure of the horsepower as the motor has not been dyno'd. I can guess on that thinking around 430hp or so as a guess.

    The idea on this post is to get the right plug or at least close so that I don't have to change plugs over and over again.

    If there are other parts you need details on let me know.

    Need more information:

    1. What will your DCR (dynamic compression ratio) be?
    2. Do you plan on using nitrous?
    3. How high will you be spinning it?

      I don't know what DCR is but the compression I'm told will be 11.5-1

      I may use nitrous in the future but not right now.

      I am going to have the car limited via the MSD box to 6500.

        Give me your camshaft duration advertised and at .050" and I'll get your DCR pretty close. Suffice it to say, you are probably going to benefit from one heat range colder.

            Jerry, I need the advertised (@.006") duration specs. Or if you have access to the cam card, I just need the advertised IVC ABDC(Intake Valve Closing) point. You're using a 6" rod correct?

            I tell you what. Let me just calculate your static myself so that the DCR will be as acuurate as I can get it.

            Give me your:

            Stroke
            Rod length
            Bore
            Combustion chamber volume
            Crushed head gasket thickness
            Head gasket bore
            Piston volume (relief volume)
            Piston to deck clearance (piston in the hole depth)

              I'll get a call out to the guy building the motor. The only thing I remember us that the bore is .060 the stroke is 3.75. The rods are 6''

              I'll get the rest here in a little bit.
