Some time ago, I had an optispark fail on me. (93 Formula). I took it to a local speed shop in NJ for repairs (Cartek - Garwood, NJ). What I was sold was a Accel optispark, or so I was told. Upon getting the car back, had some minor body damage (from improper lift usage), and both temp engine/computer sensors were reversed in the hookup, so neither worked (No idea how/why that happened). Didnt pay much mind to it, glad to have the car running again, I just repaired the temp sensors myself, and moved on. Months later, boom.. Optispark fails again. Instead of shelling out a few hundred extra dollars for labor, and the satisfaction of knowing it was done correctly, I decided to install the new Opti myself. What I found was troublesome. The opti that was on the car, that failed, looked like a regular Borg Warner optispark, and it even looked USED!!! I looked around at every site I can find with Accel ignition products, and I cannot even find a Optispark made by Accel. Has anyone seen one? Im assuming these clowns dumped the used crap part in, figuring I would never know/see them again. Any info appreciated.
